Forest City Allies: a new website and member portal
Forest City Allies is a London, Ontario business referral network that meets every other Wednesday morning at the Idlewyld Inn & Spa. The new website replaced the group's earlier WordPress site and added a sign-in area where members keep their own profiles up to date.
The homepage on the previous site, as archived by the Wayback Machine on February 16, 2025, and on the current site, captured September 24, 2026, at the same screen sizes: a 1280px desktop window and a 390px phone. The previous site's logo image is missing from every archived copy.
What changed, and why
Design
An illustrated, editorial look in the group's greens, with a clear headline about what the group is for and one obvious next step: reserve a seat at a meeting.
Structure
Separate pages for the group, how meetings run, the members and how to join. The meeting day, time and place sit on the homepage, so a visitor can plan to attend without digging.
Member directory
A profile for each member with their business and what they focus on, so visitors can see who is in the room before they come to a meeting.
Member portal
Members sign in with their email and a password or an emailed code to update their own profile. Administrators review and publish the changes, so the directory can stay current.
Mobile
Every page is laid out for phones as well as desktops, with the menu folded into a single button.
